- An Inconvenient Truth DVD, featuring Al Gore detailing scientific evidence of global warming/climate change.
- Kilowatt Ours DVD, about Appalachian mountaintop coal strip mining, fossil fuel related environmental problems, and individual energy-saving actions.
- The Consumers Guide to Effective Environmental Choices: Practical Advice from the Union of Concerned Scientists by Michael Brower and Warren Leon, identifies those modern consumer activities that cause the most environmental damage and those that cause the least.
- Your Green Home by Alex Wilson, is a detailed guide on building energy efficient and environmentally friendly new homes.
- American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy's 9th edition of its Consumers Energy Guide helps homeowners "decide which products to buy and how to use them for maximum energy savings."
- The Home Energy Diet by Paul Scheckel on how to save money by making your house energy smart.
- The Weathermakers by Tim Flannery is a very readable account of the science behind the effects of humankind's activities on the planet.
- Insulate & Weatherize by Bruce Harley - a "Taunton's Build Like a Pro" series book that addresses "keeping warm in winter & cool in summer, solving moisture problems, and finding hidden energy wasters."
- A home energy calculator produced by SERG (VT Sustainable Energy Resource Group) - a one pager to figure out your home's BTU consumption per square foot (also available online here).
