Pat Larson of North Quabbin Energy
spoke to hundreds of visitors at our table.

Rob Rizzo of Mt. Wachusett Community College,
State Senator Stephen Brewer, and North
Quabbin Chamber of Commerce Director Steve
Raymond were among the enthusiastic participants
at the March 29 event.

Builder Larry Eaton of New Salem
spoke about the Energy Wise houses he constructs.

Visitors from Mt. Wachusett Community College
spoke about the college's nationally-recognized
"greening" projects. Left to right, Facilities Director
Rob Rizzo, students John Cody, Amanda Dettloff, Heidi Kowalski
and Tom Montagno, chair of the Natural Resources Program.

Jane Manring, Don Audet, and Cathy Szal
offered young attendees a range of
energy- and conservation-related craft activities in the "kids' corner".

Eduardo Suarez of Co-op Power spoke about
the coop's new "member-to-member" solar hot water
installation program--an updated version of the
old-fashioned New England "barn-raising!"

Walt Congdon of Northfield shared his expertise
on residential wind power.

Phil Leger discussed "Recycling for the 21st Century"--
including the "next-generation" concepts of
"cradle-to-grave ownership" and "single-stream" recycling
and the older ideas of reducing and reusing!

Tom Leue of Homestead, Inc. (right) demonstrated his
waste-vegetable-oil fired furnance burner for
Dennis Mallet and Tom Montagno.

And Barbara Goldstein of Warm and Toasty Windows
got a kick out of being interviewed for AOTV!
